After weeks or months of designing, building, programming, testing, and rebuilding, the robot is finally ready - or as ready as any robot ever feels - to enter the competition.
In the final episode of FTC Explained, Theo takes us inside the FTC competition.
He shows us what happens during the event, how matches unfold, and how teams respond when the robot does not behave quite as expected. Behind every brief appearance on the competition field are many hours of preparation, quick decisions, unexpected problems, and students working together under pressure.
Competition day is about much more than winning. It is the moment when everything the team has learned is put to the test: the design of the robot, the reliability of the code, the ability to solve problems quickly, and, perhaps most importantly, the strength of the team itself.

FTC Explained is a beginner‑friendly mini-series created by Theo Balan, a high school student in the Seattle area with a strong interest in robotics and experience in both FTC and FRC. The series is designed for students interested in robotics, engineering, coding, and FIRST Tech Challenge. Episodes introduce how FTC works, how teams build their robots, and what competitions look like behind the scenes.
